Q) A man with an unusual genetic trait marries an unaffected woman. After 10 years, altogether they had four children. Pedigrees of this family are shown in parts (a) to (e).  But whether the trait is present or absent the  in the children is not indicated. For each mode of inheritance, indicate how many children of each sex are expected to express the trait by filling in the appropriate circles and squares. Assume that the trait mentioned here is rare and fully penetrant.

a) Answer: None of the offspring express the trait

b) Answer: ½ of each sex express the trait

c) Answer: None of the offspring express the trait

d) Answer: All the female children express the trait

e) Answer: All the male children will express the trait
